About
About the campaign
bitcoin-forks.org is an independent monitoring campaign for the August 2026 Bitcoin consensus events: BIP-110 (the Reduced Data Temporary Softfork) first, and the expected eCash drivechain fork second, on shared monitoring infrastructure. It pairs a durable educational layer with a live layer, so a reader can both understand the event and watch it unfold in the same terms.
Purpose
The aim is to be the reference source for these events: technically correct and honest about uncertainty. Education can ship before any live feed exists, because the mental model needed to read the event is durable while the numbers are not. The most durable contribution is the raw record: whatever happens, including the valid outcome where no split occurs at all, the evidence is captured and published so it is not lost.
Independence
This is independent monitoring-mission work. The site is not affiliated with any mining pool, client project, exchange, or custodian, and it takes no position on whether BIP-110 should activate or whether the eCash fork should proceed. It presents mechanics and evidence. Where participants hold positions, those are described as positions held by participants, not adjudicated here.
Not advice
Nothing on this site is financial, custody, tax, or investment advice, and nothing here recommends any wallet, exchange, service, or course of action. The replay and wallet-safety material is safety information about protocol mechanics only. For your own situation, consult a qualified professional.
What this site is not
These are explicit non-goals, kept so the site stays focused:
- No block explorer. We link out to existing explorers rather than reimplement address, transaction, or block lookup.
- No wallet product and no personalized advice. Safety basics only (no native replay protection, use branch-specific inputs or confirmed conflicts). If asked for advice, we say this is not financial advice.
- No competing signalling-dashboard clone. The signalling niche is saturated; signalling is shown as one instrument among several, always with the "claim, not enforcement" guardrail.
- No price ticker, market predictions, or "which coin wins" framing. Market value is emergent and outside the site's evidence remit.
- No node-count leaderboard that implies enforcement from reachability. Counts are a crawl sample.
- No real-time push infrastructure in v1. Views refresh periodically from read-model data.
- No accounts, login, comments, or user data collection. No third-party trackers.
- No advocacy. The site presents mechanics and evidence, not a position on the outcome.
- No inference of rejection from absence. This is a hard rule, everywhere in the product.

Contact details will be published here before public release. Until then, the durable references are the explainer library, the methods summary, and the CC0 data downloads that ship at launch.
